I’ve seen better

2)Who do you think the site is created for?
I think it is meant for people from their early teens to early 40s.

3)What are the good attributes of the site(in terms of usability,aesthetic issues,etc)?
I think the site is still OK in providing information about their location and their services.

4)What are the bad attributes of the site?
It really lacks a lot in terms of design ,and it lacks pictures.
For a shop that is quite famous I’d expect it to be more professionally done.

Web design Questions Week 2!

1)What is Browser-Safe Color Palette / Web-Safe Colors?
It is the color palette which was used by internet explorer and Netscape.However some of these color palettes are slightly different on Mac then on PCs.Only 216 of the colors are the same, the remaining 40 are slightly different.

2)Is it still relevant in today’s context? Why?
Yes. Because companies feel that it is appropriate for their designers and developers to use them. And also the color palette is built into many professional web design and development tool.So they are fairly easy to use.

3)What are the common fonts found on PC & Mac?
They are: * Arial, Arial Black, Comic Sans MS, Courier New, Georgia, Impact, Lucida Console, Lucida Sans, Palatino, Tahoma, Times New Roman, Verdana, MS Sans Serif, MS Serif.

4)What is page loading time and how it influences your design?
Page loading time is the time taken for your web browser to fully load all the objects in that web page. It will take longer loading time for objects that are very big. Considering this important factor it is necessary to make sure that the objects in that webpage are smaller so as to minimize the loading time.

5)Read about web design Process article and write your thoughts about it.
After reading through the article , i have learnt that webdesign is not a simple thing. There are many important factors to consider, such as the typography that u are going to use and the composition and structure. Creating a website first starts off from an idea, it is then analyzed and developed into a concept. After the concept is planned , from there the designing and and content is introduced. After which there will be further development and it is ready for launch. Easy as it sounds there are still crucial stages in the workflow from consulting the client to finalizing the design and then coded into Xhtml.
The key things in web designing is know what people want and is your site able to provide them with the information they need. Further more a good and successful website needs to be updated with new information constantly and it has to be well-maintained as well.

Browser wars are browsers that are competing for dominance in the market, each wanting their browser to be the main channel for their clients to connect to the web.

3)What is IP address?

IP address stands for internet protocol. It is made up of numbers which are given to computer devices in the global network. IP address also makes it easier to track down hackers.

4)What is a URL?

Short form for Uniform Resource Locator. It is the global address for websites and resources over the web. A URL is made up of an IP address and a domain name.

5)What is a good website?

A good website is not just about the design or layout, it is also how it is structured. Depending on your objective and how you intend to accomplish it, a plan is needed in order to create a good website. A good website has to be well maintained, meaning valuable information is updated regularly. Other factors in a good website is the design and layout, the colour and design are important factors to consider so as to ensure it is appealing to the viewers eyes.
